Warehouse operative

Job Description/Responsibilities

  • Scanning all deliveries onto our system
  • Reporting damaged or missing stock
  • Sorting and pricing stock ready for shop floor or storage
  • Displaying stock on shop floor neatly and accurately
  • Maintaining correct shelf edge and product labelling
  • Topping up shop floor from storage/overs
  • Reporting any stock errors to Supervisor
  • Organising storage of over stocks and ensuring correct rotation of stock – keeping shop floor replenished at all times
  • Operation of pallet trucks
  • Directing customers to particular items within our store
  • Helping customers with their orders
  • Organising stock transfers and returns
  • Organising and maintaining customer orders and ensuring they are available for collection
  • Ensuring goods in area is kept clean and tidy
  • Cleaning and maintaining shop floor as required
  • Removal and safe storage of all waste, rubbish & pallets.
  • Storage of and assembly of shop floor racking as required.
  • Updating stock information on our computer systems.
  • Carrying out spot checks, audits and stock checks throughout our store.
  • Tracing and resolving any stock discrepancies on our system.
  • General maintenance of shop that may include but is not limited to cleaning, sweeping, vacuuming and small D.I.Y tasks.

 

Skills

  • This is a very physically demanding role and requires a good level of fitness
  • This role involves lots of manual work, regularly lifting up-to 25kg bags
  • · You need to be honest and reliable, this is a key role within our company
  • This role requires an excellent attention to detail, you will need to work quickly under pressure in an organised manor.
  • You will need good IT skills for data entry and inventory control our system is paperless
  • You should be able to visualise ways to organise stock, maximise storage in a given space and ensure stock is dealt with efficiently
  • You must have great communication skills and be able to work with the rest of the team and our customers

Flexibility - Monday to Friday hours between 8:30am and 6pm
